CLEANING AND GLAZING

To maintain the brilliance of your Fur, cleaning and glazing is recommended every season. Our long winters leave salt and dirt, while normal wear will leave body oils, or makeup and should be removed. Most importantly, the cleaning process will protect and preserve the natural oils found in the skins preventing them from drying, which in turn will help extend the life span of your coat.

Our Glazing process, which is combined with the cleaning process, will replenish the Sheen to your Fur garment. And for our clients with a Sheared Fur, we include an Electrifying Treatment. After seasons of wear a sheared fur may tend to look wooly, but this process will bring the garment back to its' original luster and finish.

STORAGE

Every season it is vital to store your valuable Fur, Leather, Shearling or Fur Trimmed garment in a Temperature and Humidity controlled environment. Our secure vaults are on premise, therefore offering access to your garment at your convenience.

Neither a standard home closet, or basement, is a suitable area to store a Fur. Odors such as cedar or mothballs, or even the dampness of a basement may not be easily removed from the fur and could prove to be a costly mistake!

At Furs by Russell, our vaults are equipped with proper air circulation at a constant 45-50 Degrees and 50% Humidity to maintain your valuable. According to the Fur Information Council of America, professional storage during summer months is most important for maximizing the longevity of your Fur.

REPAIRS

Our Master Furrier and our team of professional finishers, are here to inspect, mend or replace any portion of your garment in need of repair. From a simple tear to a worn cuff in need of replacing, our staff is on premise and always ready to help.

Alteration and repair services include:

Shortening/Lengthening sleeve or hemlines

Lining repairs or replacement

Replacing or moving buttons, closures, hooks and eyes, etc..

Monograms-new or removals

RESTYLING

At Furs by Russell, our Master Furrier and New York trained designer can remake your fur into a garment that is up to date and wearable again. You could turn your full length garment into a stroller or jacket, or even into a vest! Whether the reason is for comfort or style, we will work with you to fit your needs.
